Sexual Assault and Prevention

How we make Cal Poly Safer

The Safer program is Cal Poly’s primary resource for addressing sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking. Safer provides confidential crisis counseling and advocacy to students, faculty, staff and supporters who have been affected by sexual violence.

Safer works to create a healthy and respectful campus environment inclusive of one’s gender identities, sexual orientation, culture and background. We collaborate with a breadth of Cal Poly resources including, the Dean of Students, Health and Counseling Services, University Police Department, and the office of Equal Opportunity to provide a seamless experience of support for survivors.

Comprehensive Crisis Counseling & Support

Safer provides advocacy for students, faculty, and staff who have been affected by violence in the form of:

  • Confidential crisis counseling
  • Survivor support, education and referrals
  • On campus accompaniments
  • Support and guidance on making a report to university officials and/or law enforcement
