Diversity and Belonging
Black Academic Excellence Center
The Black Academic Excellence Center is dedicated to empowering and advancing the educational journey of Cal Poly students from the Black diaspora.
Center for Military-Connected Students
The Center for Military-Connected Students supports all student veterans and the dependents of those who have served.
The Dream Center strives to support, empower, and advocate for the academic, professional, and personal development and success of all undocumented students.
The Gender Equity Center welcomes people of all genders and experiences to cultivate a brave space where we can learn and grow together.
Latinx/e Center for Academic Success and Achievement (La CASA)
La CASA is designed to foster belonging and provide holistic support to students who identify as Latinx so they can thrive while at Cal Poly
LGBTQ Campus Life supports and empowers people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.
Men and Masculinities creates spaces to critically evaluate expressions of masculinity and establish healthy and authentic masculine gender norms.
Rooted in values of equity and justice, the Multicultural Center is dedicated to the recruitment, retention and success of historically underrepresented groups.
Native American and Indigenous Cultural Center
The Native American and Indigenous Cultural Center seeks to embrace and encourage students to (re)connect to the traditions and cultures of Native American and Indigenous peoples.
Health and Wellbeing
Campus Health and Wellbeing (CH&W) is comprised of health, counseling, and wellbeing services. Staffed by board-certified medical providers, mental health counselors, health educators, and more, CH&W provides primary and same-day medical and counseling services; individual, group and couples counseling; and wellbeing programming to support the social, emotional and physical health of students.
The Disability Resource Center provides accommodations and coordinates support for those with permanent and temporary disabilities.
Safer (Sexual Assault Prevention)
Campus Health and Wellbeing's Safer program is Cal Poly's prevention education & confidential advocacy resource for sexual assault, intimate partner violence, domestic violence, stalking, sexual exploitation and harassment.
Leadership and Service
Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Student Government is a group of elected and volunteer student leaders who represent the student body's collective voice and spark change at the campus, state, and federal levels.
Career Services empowers students to achieve a lifetime of meaningful career success by engaging with Cal Poly's vibrant network.
The Center for Leadership fosters socially responsible leadership development through high-impact practices, programs, and events that are innovative, inclusive and educational.
The Center for Service in Action connects students with meaningful community service opportunities that complement their educational experience.
Fraternity and Sorority Life fosters the learning and development of students who affiliate with the social fraternities and sororities.
Clubs, Sports and Recreation
Cal Poly Athletics is home to 21 NCAA Division I teams mainly within the Big West Conference and have captured almost 50 conference championships.
The Recreation Center is Cal Poly’s destination for fitness, recreation, relaxation, and wellness. The state-of-the-art facility features everything students need for their workout, leisure or recreational activity.
Since 1949, students from San Luis Obispo and Pomona have worked together to create the joint Cal Poly Universities float for the annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association’s Rose Parade.
Cal Poly has more than 400 student organizations that serve a wide range of interests.
Student Support and Services
The Cal Poly Scholars program seeks to support and retain high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds in California schools by providing financial, academic and community resources.
The Commencement Office provides Cal Poly graduates and their guests with a memorable and meaningful graduation experience that symbolizes the culmination of their academic achievements.
Office of the Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students provides students with assistance in navigating Cal Poly and connecting them with appropriate resources.
Educational Opportunity Program
The Educational Opportunity Program strives to improve the access, retention, and graduation of Cal Poly students who have been historically, economically and/or educationally disadvantaged.
The Guardian Scholars Program serves incoming first-year, transfer, and continuing students who have experienced foster care.
Julian A. McPhee University Union
Whether for studying, socializing, or touring campus, the University Union is the gathering place for the Cal Poly community.
New Student and Transition Programs
New Student and Transition Programs ensures that all new Mustangs begin their journey with a Learn by Doing experience and the resources to thrive at Cal Poly, as well as in the community.
The Off-Campus Housing Program helps students make an easy transition from on-campus to off-campus living while encouraging them to become engaged, positive members of the community.
Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities administers the California State University Standards for Student Conduct.
Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center
The Orfalea Family and ASI Children’s Center provides early care and education services for the children of Cal Poly students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the local San Luis Obispo community.
Parent and Family Programs provides support, resources and exciting programming for the proud parents, family members and supporters of Cal Poly students.
Students with Dependents seeks to ensure that all student parents have the support and resources they need to overcome challenges and succeed in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment
TRIO Achievers is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and provides services and programs for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Cal Poly offers many types of housing, including residence halls and apartments in various residential Learning Communities across campus.
Upward Bound is a federally funded outreach program that provides services to local high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
