Scott Starkey

Scott Starkey and his wife, Julia, moved to San Luis Obispo from Austin, Texas, in 2014. Scott works with Aware Awake Alive, a nonprofit organization he and his wife formed after their son Carson, then 18 years old, died from alcohol poisoning following a fraternity hazing ritual. Scott is committed to preventing others from suffering such a tragedy. He and his wife are active in overseeing the mission of Aware Awake Alive and ensuring its long-term sustainability. Scott, along with Julie, is involved in cultivating institutional partnerships to bring life-saving tools to as many people as possible.

Scott enjoys cycling and spending time with his son, Hayden, and his daughter-in-law, Laura.
