Student Affairs Advisory Council
Keith Humphrey
Dr. Keith Humphrey joined Cal Poly in December 2012 as Vice President for Student Affairs and is the chair of the Student Affairs Advisory Council. As vice president, Dr. Humphrey leads one of the largest divisions on campus with a variety of support and academic services that promote student success. He oversees almost two dozen departments and programs that assist students through their college careers and beyond. Dr. Humphrey oversees the division’s leadership, fiscal and strategic planning, campus dining programming, and working relationships with the California State University Chancellor’s Office.
Prior to joining Cal Poly, Dr. Humphrey was the assistant vice president and dean of students at the University of Arizona. He also served as the associate dean of students, director of orientation and assistant professor of practice and coordinator of the master’s program in higher education at the university’s Center for the Study of Higher Education. Dr. Humphrey has served the higher education community as president of ACPA-College Student Educators International from 2012 to 2013.
Dr. Humphrey earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary, master’s degree from James Madison University, and doctorate from the University of Arizona. He lives in San Luis Obispo with his husband, Brett, and two children, Isaiah and Robert.
